Gender stereotypes will always be prevalent in today's society. From a blog discussing gender stereotypes in the business world, Richard Feloni, an author covering business management on BusinessInsider, discusses some of the common stereotypes of women in the business world. He talks about how women will be more prone to quit their job due to them having kids and how they are more likely to be judge when they voice their opinion. From this blog, it shows how women will always have a hard time and it's organized quite effectively. The blog is very straight forward and has bold lettering for each common stereotype.
A scholarly article from authors, Gary Powell, Anthony Butterfield, and Jane Parent, professionals in business at universities in the East Coast, also discuss gender stereotypes in the business world associated with gender. They talk about how women are more gentle and supportive while men are more assertive and competitive. From the article, it shows gender stereotypes are still common in today's society. The article is more research based due to them actually performing an experiment and drawing conclusions from their research. The article is very research intensive with many sources and is very long.
From these two articles, which are we more likely to trust?
Since the blog has less information and is very straight forward, we are more likely to trust the blog more than the article. In today's society, most people are very lazy and want the information just spoon-fed to them instead of digging through pages of research to find one statistic. It's just how we are in today's society. Not enough time or we're purely just too lazy to do some research. If only we wanted to take the time to dig in, we would be better off as a society.
